PAPA ROACH, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, MASTODON First-Week Sales Revealed
September 20, 2006PAPA ROACH's "The Paramour Sessions" sold nearly 37,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release — a drop from the 52,000 first-week performance of 2004's "Getting Away with Murder" — to debut at position No. 16 on next week's The Billboard 200 chart. Meanwhile, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's "Shot to Hell" premiered with just under 32,000 — less than the 45,000 copies shifted by BLS's "Mafia" back in March 2005 — to land at No. 21. Elsewhere, MASTODON's "Blood Mountain" came in with just over 24,000 units — significantly more than the 8,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, 2004's "Leviathan" — which put it at No. 32.
